During a stay at the Emily Harvey Foundation in Venice mid-April to mid-May, 2014, I was invited to participate on a panel, Mail Art, Art in Trench and to show several pieces in an exhibition, both curated by Ruggero Maggi at Spazio Thetis. I was asked to speak about the connection between Mail Art and Visual Poetry.
My MAIL ART Archive 1983–2023 has been accepted into the Special Collections & Archives, University of Iowa Libraries, Iowa City, IA. The library has an extensive collection of mail art and visual and concrete poetry. I sent seven boxes of MAIL ART by artists from around the globe, included: art on postcards, catalogues, exhibition documentation, posters, visual and concrete poetry, letters, photographs, books and miscellaneous ephemera. I also contributed a mail art project of black and white paintings mailed from Venice to the library.
I am participating in POSTCARDS FROM THE EDGE, a benefit for AIDS. Postcards with original art from artists are to be mailed to Berry Campbell Gallery, 524 W 26th Street, NYC 10001. Postcards will be shown in the gallery Jan 24-26, online sale begins Jan 26.
A collection of my Artistamps (Artist’s Stamp Sheets) is now included in the FeMail-XX Artistamp Project and a part of The Smithsonian Museum Artistamp Collection, Washington, DC., 2024.
Visual Poetry + Color An installation of 44 panels by USA and International Artists, Curated by Willie Marlowe, was shown at the Art Center of the Capital Region, Troy NY 2023. In 2024 the show traveled to the Ferrari Gallery, Dallas, TX; and to the Ontological Museum Permanent Collection in Albuquerque, NM.
The Ellen Sinopoli Dance Company selected five of my Kite constructions to be projected on stage behind the dancers for a performance Boundary Behavior (2024). Performed at THE EGG, Empire State Plaza Theatre, Albany NY, May 18, 2024. An installation of Kites was shown at the theatre as a small solo show.
